Haven't read all 14 pages of it, but it seems a little weird that it should make a difference. Having said that too many say it does make a difference so just go with it I say.

The most likely explanation, to my mind, is the one that relates to early dual core machines and possibly some HT processors. Both of which are very likely properly fixed with Intel cpu microcode updates. It's not uncommon for Dell to release microcode updates for processors in their systems. Haven't checked out many others lately tbh.

from what I read is that WMP reserves certain recourses and sends them to WoW when they are not used. Saving the game a lot of time on reserving them itself
