My moniter keeps going wierd almost as soon as I log into WoW. It doesn't do it if I am just on the internet or another programme.
I will be playing then the moniter goes black. Occasionally it shows the message 'cable not connected'. There seems no way to get out of it apart from restarting the computer or logging off. Even if I don't touch the cables as soon as I restart the moniters fine.
My internet connection is a bit shakey (need to get an extension lead and put the arial near the flont of the flat) is that what is causing it? Normally I just thought that logged you out of WoW?
Anyone got any clues?

Actually sounds like the connection from monitor to the pc is faulty or loose. Are you running via a DVI connection or straight monitor connection to your PC?

If its stating something about Direct X then it may be totally unrelated. Reinstall latest direct X and see how it goes.

I downloaded the latest directX and so far it is working, mind you it worked last week too...
The connection is a lead with big screw in connections at either end. The connections are blue but that is about as technical as I get

i'd have checked the cable as well - sounds like a possible loose connection

Hmm. Check if WoW is using a different resolution and/or refreshrate that your windows desktop.

If you can't get into wow then do this:

Find and Open the Config.wtf file using a text editor, like WordPad.

Locate the lines which are something like this:

SET gxResolution "800x600"
SET gxRefresh "60"

Now edit the resolution and refresh rates to whatever you would like. Now save the file and try launching the game again.
